Position Summary:

The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a wide variety of landscaping equipment and vehicles, including diesel-powered trucks, trailers, mowers, and other heavy machinery. The ideal candidate will have experience working with both diesel engines and small engines, and hold relevant certifications to ensure equipment runs efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel and gas-powered trucks, trailers, landscaping machinery, and equipment.
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of equipment including mowers, blowers, edgers, skid steers, and more.
Maintain and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems on vehicles and equipment.
Perform scheduled maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and tire rotations.
Maintain accurate service records and reports.
Order and manage parts inventory, ensuring timely availability of required components.
Ensure all repairs and maintenance meet company standards and comply with safety regulations.
Provide emergency roadside repairs and support during active field operations as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Assist in the loading and unloading of equipment for transport.
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (additional technical training preferred).
Proven 3 - 5 years experience repairing and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.  
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and small engine mechanics.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair both mechanical and electrical systems.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality of work.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) and work in various outdoor conditions.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends when needed.
